Book Project Management
For most of the books handled by Green Sand Press, we act as a contract, off-site production editor or project coordinator, and as such we relieve the publisher of the need to allocate in-house staff time to supervising a project.
Typically, we review the initial manuscript and prepare it for editing, supervise the copyediting, interact with the author, review the edited files, and prepare the manuscript and all related elements for design and composition. We transmit the manuscript package to a designer, when needed, then on to a typesetter, and we take care of all proof handling, including collating and tabulating alterations, through final camera copy or electronic files. We are the central contact point for all parties involved in the process, and the publisher is brought in only to clarify policies or field occasional questions.
If you have special needs and are looking for someone to handle specific phases of the publishing process, or if you wish to have us supervise the entire project through delivery of bound books, please let us know. We have the experience, expertise, and flexibilty to suit most situations.
